Our Standards
Ethics Policy
The International Post is committed to the highest standards of journalistic ethics. This policy governs the conduct of all editorial staff, contributors, and freelance journalists.
Editorial Independence
The International Post maintains strict editorial independence from all commercial, political, and institutional interests. Our newsroom operates autonomously, and no advertiser, sponsor, or external party has influence over our editorial decisions.
Our journalists are prohibited from accepting gifts, favors, or compensation from sources or subjects of coverage. Any potential conflicts must be disclosed to editors immediately, and affected journalists will be reassigned from relevant stories.
Fact-Checking Standards
All factual claims in our reporting must be verified through at least two independent sources before publication. Our fact-checking team reviews every article for accuracy, context, and completeness.
Statistical data and scientific claims are verified against primary sources, including peer-reviewed research, official government data, and recognized international organizations. We clearly label projections, estimates, and preliminary findings.
When information cannot be independently verified but is deemed newsworthy, we explicitly note the limitations of our sourcing and provide appropriate caveats to readers.
Corrections Policy
We are committed to correcting errors promptly and transparently. When a factual error is identified, we update the article with a clear correction notice that describes what was changed and when the correction was made.
Minor corrections, such as typographical errors or clarifications that do not alter the substance of the reporting, are made with a brief note. Significant corrections that affect the meaning or conclusions of an article are prominently displayed and, when appropriate, communicated through our social media channels.
Readers are encouraged to report errors by contacting our editorial team at corrections@theintlpost.com.
Conflicts of Interest
All editorial staff must disclose any financial interests, personal relationships, or affiliations that could create a real or perceived conflict of interest. This includes investments, board memberships, family connections, and prior employment.
Journalists may not cover companies or organizations in which they hold a financial interest. They may not engage in political activism or make public endorsements of candidates or causes that could compromise the perception of their objectivity.
Our editorial leadership reviews conflict disclosures regularly and makes reassignment decisions to ensure the integrity of our coverage.
Source Protection
The International Post is committed to protecting the identity of confidential sources. We use encrypted communication channels and secure document handling procedures to safeguard source identities.
Anonymous sourcing is used only when the information is of significant public interest and cannot be obtained on the record. The decision to grant anonymity requires approval from a senior editor, and the source's identity must be known to at least one editor.
We will resist legal efforts to compel disclosure of confidential sources to the fullest extent permitted by law. Our commitment to source protection is fundamental to our ability to report on matters of public importance.
